Open a Command Prompt in the download folder and run:
certutil -hashfile metadata++-3-00-3.exe SHA256
The resulting value must exactly match the installer package checksum displayed above.
Metadata++ is developed independently and is not yet digitally signed. Windows SmartScreen may therefore display a warning.
Why is Metadata++ not digitally signed?
Metadata++ is free software developed and maintained independently. Code-signing certificates recognized by Windows involve a significant recurring cost, which is difficult to justify for software distributed free of charge.
The absence of a digital signature does not mean that the program is unsafe. It only means that Windows cannot automatically verify the publisher’s identity. The SHA-256 checksums published on this page allow you to confirm that the downloaded files have not been modified.
